West Mule Creek Oil Field
Oil at the Edge
Undrilled Gas Anticline
Multi-Basin Natural Gas Play
Current spacing at West Mule Creek is set at five acres, tanks and additional infrastructure is in place (please note photos).
Opened in 2003, the three well field (sitting astride a
high closure on the south end of the uplifted Allen Dome), currently produces from Lakota and Dakota silt and is currently up-for-sale. Cumulative production to-date is typical for area stripper wells and the field is impacted by the presence of paraffinic oils. Anti-paraffin down-hole equipment has recently been installed at the field. Prior
to anti-paraffin equipment installation – approximate production figures were 105 bbls of oil and 120 bbls of produced fresh water. Figures reflecting the effectiveness of the anti-paraffin measures were not yet available at
this writing.

Of the producing horizons, there is at least one of the four porosities in the Lakota still undeveloped. Also, the Dakota silt, a shallow oil saturated silt–to-sand sized reservoir, apparently underlies all the leased acreage. Dakota Silt may well provide a very economic approach to continued new horizon development at the field. In addition, with no drilling deeper than Lakota, the Mesozoic and Paleozoic rocks that are productive just a short distance deeper into the Powder River Basin (such as Jurassic Canyon Springs and Pennsylvanian Minnelusa) are very prospective.

IKG’s opinion is that this small field with only one to two producing wells in play since 1981, and numerous years with no producing wells online due to poor management has generating some 41,605 bbls cumulative. Located on
a very apparent structural high and containing several as-of-yet unexplored rock horizons, such as Canyon Springs and Minnelusa formations, have not been fully assessed at this time.

Investment Acreage

Monies are sought to obtain leased mineral rights on lands in western and central South Dakota. Such lands will be positioned over several
IKG prospect areas and will be aimed at obtaining drilling acreage to exploit several new rock units which have recently shown pay potential. Approximate dollar amounts per prospect average some 2,500 to 3,500 mineral acres per prospect.

Please contact Inyan Kara Group for more information on the following various prospects which are all located in South Dakota and range from the Missouri River country in the east,  to the Montana border in the west.  605-390-7798 or email

Occuring in Butte County, this structure contains as many as seven prospective gas/oil target horizons.
A show of gas and oil, as well as gas product pipelines are both found in close proximity.

Reserves have been calculated for both oil and nature gas.
The vast majority of the southern Willistion Basin (SD), is under-explored to un-explored for hydrocarbons. The potential exists to duplicate oil and gas production in the southern basin as is currently seen in the northern basin, (Canada).

The area is prime for a "resource type" shale play to more traditional structural traps.

Southwestern Williston Basin in Manitoba, is considered to be the best analog to southern Williston Basin margins (SD),
