Inyan Kara Group, LLC
Tony Petres – President

Petres is a Certified Professional Geologist, Wyoming State Certified and long-time AAPG member. Tony brings over 29 years of active work in the oil patch. From exploration industry,
to geologic research, to state regulatory/state promotion, the majority of which has involved
the Williston Basin as well as many of the better-known sedimentary basins of the greater
Northern Rockies. The revival of old geophysical well logs and the prospects they measured,
is a continuing interest as well as an on-going search for recently discovered Cretaceous
shallow oil reservoirs, first noticed by Inyan Kara Group (IKG) in the mid 2000’s in Northwestern South Dakota.
Roger Hodson – Vice President and Business Consultant

With mutual supporting educations in geologic engineering and business economics (MBA), Roger is critical in establishing working relationships between industry and Inyan Kara Group. Current interests concern the massive resource development on-going in North Dakota and spreading the word within the exploration industries as to the similarity and availability of
Inyan Kara Group’s South Dakota oil/gas prospects. With thick carbon-rich sedimentary beds underlying South Dakota’s share of both the Williston and Kennedy Basin’s, Roger’s eye is focused on expanding the orderly development of similar resources in the wide-open spaces
of South Dakota. Roger is also AIPG certified, a registered Geologic Engineer, and shares his time as the Geologic Director for Rapid City’s office of American Engineering and Testing.
J. Foster Sawyer, Phd – Vice President

Holding an Assistant Professorship at SD School of Mines and Technology (SDSM&T) in Rapid City, South Dakota, teaching petroleum engineering courses and creating multi-national study programs with foreign Universities, Geologic Surveys, as well as re-vitalizing SDSM&T position as an important petroleum education source on the northern prairies, Foster is extremely engaged with both students and industry. He works with the other IKG members in planning and defining new South Dakota hydrocarbon prospects, many of which are derived from his work on the recent
SD state geologic map. As a liaison for national geologic organization convention (AIPG, GSA),
in addition to working towards placement of grad students to benefit from Inyan Kara Group’s prospect-generation work, are current interests.
